Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol was one of the most influential artists of the second half of the 20th century, creating some of the most recognizable images ever produced.

Pop art

Pop art started with the New York in the mid-1950s by artists Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, and Claes Oldenburg, all of whom drew on popular imagery and were actually part of an international phenomenon.

THE TECHNIQUE

Linocut printing technique was used first by the artists of Die Brücke in Germany between 1905 and 1913, where it had been similarly used for wallpaper printing.
