Lesson four will end the unit with a multicultural lesson plan. Temporary henna tattoos or Mehndi has been a part of celebrations in India for centuries. The students will learn the significance of these amazing works of art. The students will start studying pictures of Mehndi designs. With construction paper and markers, students will use their design principles from following lessons, such as lines, rhythm, movement, and patterns and trace their own hands on construction paper. Various Mehndi designs will be made available so students can choose which ones to use as inspiration for their own designs. A small assessment will be given before and after to see if they have a better comprehension of the principles taught in this lesson.
